and oh the ado hullabaloo of a busy municipality:
- city trains rattling tenements
(its paints peelings in polyglots),
- successions of insects pelting yellowing bulbs:
toning plastic white porch chairs on balconies unswept.
(the cavities of such cities always lay undermined.)
- the crestfallen extinct eyed grimaces of hollowed-out shopping centers
- panting bus mufflers: exhaling twirly black smokes, wheezing burly growls.
- an austere business man looking busy walking boldly, shiny black boots chafing against the street in synchronized thuds.
his brown briefcase bustling full with contracts.
(hoping to strike a deal….CAPITALize; strike another deal)
sun sets magenta
aside monuments slowly eroding.
bitter airs pinch my feet frigid, lips chapped,
and cold hands swimming in undersized sweaters.
swirling smoke from my cigarette decorates the prosaic metrics
of an atmosphere exorbitant,
yet languidly ebbing.
